Since we have a book full of inspired wisdom and truth, I always roll my eyes at the popular phrases of the day: “God is my co-pilot,” “What would Jesus do?” “Let go and let God.” Do we really need to market Christianity via these trite sayings?
And another thing—why is it necessary to put the word “Christian” in front things? “Christian Music,” “Christian Art,” “Christian Books.” When did we start using the word as an adjective instead of a noun? It is obviously a marketing technique used to target a sub-set of Bible-believers. I use the term “sub-set” because it certainly doesn’t work on all of us, as many (including myself) recognize that slapping the word “Christian” in front of a creative work typically denotes sub-standard quality rather than a specific worldview. Which is really quite a shame.
Left Behind, anyone?
