You know how at the end of kids' cereal commercials, they call it "part of this balanced breakfast," and show a platter of milk, juice, fruit, muffin, and toast all around the cereal? Even as a kid I remember thinking to myself, "Sure, it's 'balanced' after you add all that other stuff!"
Come on, what kid ever actually ate more than his bowl of cereal and a glass of juice for breakfast? Those marketers weren't fooling anyone. Besides, you could put a piece of chocolate cake or a hamburger around those other foods and call it a "balanced breakfast."
