I would argue that the difficulty in creating a Superman video game demonstrates the primary flaw with the Superman character: he’s too powerful! Batman makes a great game because the Dark Knight can actually be injured; there is difficulty and risk involved in what he is trying to accomplish. Superman has virtually infinite abilities and can’t be hurt (don’t bring up kryptonite unless you’re going to give some to every bad guy). And where’s the fun in playing a game with no challenge and where the hero can’t be hurt?
If Superman has a life meter and takes damage when someone punches or shoots him, we would all be like, “Wait, that shouldn’t hurt him, he’s Superman!”
And therein lies the character’s primary flaw.
