Salmon nigiri, pictured above. It is difficult for me to explain why I love sushi (easily my favorite food), but I will try.
There is something distinctly subtle yet bold about a properly prepared sushi dish. The presentation, the thinly sliced side of pickled ginger, the delicate movement of the chopsticks as I gently dip into my wasabi-seasoned soy sauce. Each type of sushi has its own unique intricacies that combine into an experience unlike any other.
As my wife will attest, do not try to talk to me while I have a piece of sushi in my mouth. My eyes are closed, all senses attuned to the amazing delicacy I am enjoying.
I guess you could call it a foodgasm.
