Back when I was in the dating scene, I had two major pet peeves. The first was a picky eater. I pride myself on being willing to try new things and go out of my comfort zone. I extrapolate someone’s preference to always “play it safe” from a culinary perspective onto every other area of her life.
My second peeve was indecisiveness, which makes people appear as if they have no direction or purpose. Even if they have no specific preference, some general guidance or suggestions are always welcome. Contributing to the decision makes it seem as if they are participating in activities that they enjoy.
Of course, the worst was when these two characteristics were possessed in tandem. After my restaurant suggestions were shot down, I would ask, “Where would you like to go?” The absolute worst response: “I don’t know.”
