Someone actually said this to my face and I was a little dumbfounded to come up with a response at the time. I recognize that it is easier for some people to get or stay thin due to higher metabolism and other variables. And even though I have been thin all my life, I had a moment of realization a few years ago--my metabolism was catching up with me and if I did not intentionally adjust my diet and start exercising regularly, the pounds would start packing on.
The only comparison I can make is that telling thin people they don't have to watch what they eat is like telling wealthy people that they don’t need to live on a budget. Perhaps thin people stay thin because they watch what they eat? Perhaps wealthy people stay wealthy because they control their spending? It's interesting that the people I see jogging are nearly ALWAYS thin. Someone should tell them they don't need to exercise. And let's tell lottery winners that they can buy whatever the flip they want.
